This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of operational technology (OT) and IT in modern manufacturing environments. You will design, implement, and maintain complex computer systems and industrial networks across multiple manufacturing facilities, ensuring seamless data flow and system performance. The position involves hands-on deployment, troubleshooting, and collaboration with cross-functional teams, including IT, controls engineers, and operations staff. With up to 50% domestic travel, this role allows you to impact manufacturing operations directly while working in a dynamic, tech-forward environment. Strong problem-solving, communication, and technical skills are essential to ensure reliable industrial connectivity and optimize system performance.
Accountabilities:
- Design, deploy, and maintain OT network solutions for asset connectivity, including PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and production lines.
- Ensure reliable communication using industrial protocols such as Ethernet/IP, MQTT, OPC UA, and Modbus.
- Support system configuration, troubleshooting, upgrades, and migrations in manufacturing environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors to deliver integrated and optimized solutions.
- Monitor network and system performance, providing recommendations for improvements.
- Assist in developing and enforcing IT and OT policies and procedures.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience in operational technology, industrial networking, or systems engineering.
- Strong knowledge of OT networking standards, industrial protocols, and asset integration.
- Hands-on experience with system deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting in manufacturing settings.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Preferred: Experience with communication brokers (e.g., Kepware, Ignition, Aveva) and knowledge of OT cybersecurity principles.
