Staff DevOps Engineer, DevInfra (Remote - US)

This role is ideal for an experienced DevOps engineer passionate about automation, developer experience, and scalable platform engineering. You will lead the design and development of CI/CD pipelines, build systems, and internal developer tools that accelerate software delivery for cloud-native services. Working across multiple languages and Kubernetes environments, you will create robust automation that reduces friction, ensures reliability, and enables engineers to ship high-quality code efficiently. The position offers an opportunity to shape the internal engineering platform for mission-critical systems, collaborating closely with software engineers, product managers, and infrastructure teams to optimize workflows and operational excellence. Your contributions will directly impact developer productivity and the delivery of secure, high-performance software.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will:

• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, reliable, and secure software delivery across multiple languages and platforms (Kotlin, Go, Rust, Python, Kubernetes).
• Develop internal tools, automation, and scripts to simplify developer workflows and standardize deployments.
• Act as an advocate for developer experience, identifying and eliminating friction in engineering processes.
• Manage infrastructure as code (IaC) and maintain automation frameworks that support scalable, multi-environment deployments.
• Take ownership of projects, proactively addressing challenges and improving engineering productivity across teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate DevOps best practices into the software development lifecycle.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• 5+ years of production experience in DevOps, Platform, or Developer Productivity roles.
• Proven expertise in designing, building, and scaling complex CI/CD systems.
• Hands-on experience with build systems and toolchains across multiple programming languages.
• Advanced scripting and software development skills (Go, Python, Bash) for automation and internal tooling.
• Experience managing Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar).
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in small, fast-paced, and fluid teams.
• A focus on developer experience, operational reliability, and high-quality software delivery.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Experience building artifacts in a monorepo environment.
• Familiarity with hermetic build systems, especially Bazel.
• Containerization and container orchestration experience (Kubernetes).
• Production experience managing data infrastructure like Kafka or Postgres at scale.
• Knowledge of service mesh technologies such as Istio.
• General understanding of cryptography and security principles.
