This role is ideal for a highly skilled software engineer passionate about building innovative, high-impact solutions in healthcare technology. The Sr Software Engineer will contribute to the development and integration of advanced imaging and diagnostic systems, working closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, program managers, engineers, and scientists. The position involves designing and implementing low-latency, high-performance software solutions while maintaining rigorous standards for reliability, scalability, and quality. The engineer will play a key role in enhancing real-time medical imaging pipelines, integrating AI-driven features, and improving patient care outcomes. Accountabilities
- Develop and maintain high-performance software for real-time medical imaging applications.
- Implement and integrate software solutions in C++, C#, and scripting languages such as Python and JavaScript.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI and non-AI features into imaging pipelines.
- Perform code reviews, unit testing, and bug triage to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Document software designs, test plans, and development processes to ensure traceability and compliance.
- Contribute to frontend and backend software development and support low-latency data processing.
- Assist in designing cloud solutions and supporting production environments on AWS.
- Apply knowledge of image processing, medical image analysis, and DICOM standards to optimize software performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (STEM) or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in real-time software development, preferably in medical imaging or regulated industries.
- Strong expertise in C++ and object-oriented programming, with multi-threading experience on Windows or Ubuntu platforms.
- Familiarity with 2D/3D image processing and real-time imaging pipelines including frame grabbers.
- Experience with mixed-mode debugging, data synchronization, and memory management.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python and JavaScript.
- Familiarity with REST or GraphQL APIs and cloud-based solutions (AWS preferred).
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Bonus: prior experience with DICOM services, cloud solution design, and production support.
