This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape enterprise IT strategy and architecture across a large, complex organization. As a Sr. Principal IT Architect, you will define, design, and implement scalable IT solutions that span multiple business units and functions. You will provide technical leadership and guidance, ensuring alignment with business objectives, industry best practices, and emerging technologies. The role requires collaboration with senior leadership, IT teams, and external partners, allowing you to influence strategic decisions while mentoring other architects. This position is fully remote within the US, offering flexibility while driving impactful technology solutions that support growth and operational excellence.
Accountabilities
- Develop, deliver, and maintain enterprise-level IT solution architectures for applications and business-specific capabilities.
- Lead vision, strategy, and design for complex enterprise IT solutions while anticipating potential risks and addressing them proactively.
- Participate in establishing enterprise-wide IT policies, technology standards, and best practices across multiple IT domains.
- Collaborate with technical architecture groups and communities of practice to socialize and educate stakeholders on architecture strategies.
- Integrate emerging technologies into application architectures to reduce complexity and enhance efficiency.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to the architecture community, supporting knowledge sharing and skill development.
- Define logical reference architectures, patterns, maturity models, and roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to business units, IT leadership, and external partners on architecture decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Enterprise Architecture, Computer Science, or related field with 10+ years of experience; or a Master’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience.
- Proven track record in developing, delivering, and supporting enterprise-scale applications.
- Strong understanding and practical application of architecture frameworks and methods (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman, DoDAF, SAFe Architect).
- Experience migrating on-premises applications and infrastructure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure).
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to influence, negotiate, and collaborate effectively across a complex enterprise.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multiple assignments simultaneously while delivering high-quality architecture solutions.
- Preferred: Architecture certifications (e.g., RTX Certified Architect, TOGAF, Zachman), ITIL certification, and project management experience (e.g., PMP).
