Sr. Embedded Algorithms Engineer (Remote - US)

This role offers the opportunity to develop and optimize cutting-edge embedded algorithms for wearable medical devices, enabling real-time physiological monitoring. You will work across the full lifecycle of algorithm development—from research and prototyping to implementation and productization—ensuring high-quality data for downstream clinical intelligence. The position requires close collaboration with firmware, hardware, and product teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions. You will contribute to team infrastructure, streamline testing processes, and support evaluation of new hardware prototypes. This is a remote-first role for someone excited to work in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment with a strong impact on healthcare outcomes.

Accountabilities:

• Research and prototype algorithms for vital sign signal extraction using high-frequency sensor data.
• Collaborate with product teams to define algorithm requirements and test metrics.
• Port algorithms to embedded C/C++ and optimize for processor and power constraints.
• Develop testing protocols and perform quality assurance to ensure product compliance.
• Design and maintain internal evaluation tools for algorithm, firmware, and hardware teams.
• Assist in planning and conducting studies to evaluate hardware/firmware prototypes in development and validation stages.
• Innovate tools to automate benchmarking and testing, improving team efficiency.

Requirements

• MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in signal processing and algorithm design (FIR/IIR filters, adaptive filtering, statistical processes, time/frequency analysis).
• Strong experience pre-processing and analyzing large time-series datasets.
• Proficiency in embedded C/C++ for resource-constrained systems.
• Experience with embedded microcontrollers (e.g., ARM Cortex M0/M4).
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• High attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to thrive under pressure in a startup environment.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with Machine Learning approaches.
• Knowledge of mixed-signal hardware design for embedded systems.
