As a Solutions Architect, you will lead the design, implementation, and modernization of enterprise applications on Azure, bridging the gap between business, product, and engineering teams. You will oversee both core platform and modernization efforts, providing technical guidance, architectural guardrails, and hands-on contributions. This role combines strategic planning, coding, and mentorship to ensure scalable, secure, and highly available cloud-native solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define roadmaps, establish standards, and deliver measurable outcomes while driving best practices in DevOps, observability, and modern application design. This position offers the opportunity to shape the technical direction of critical enterprise systems while fostering high-performing teams.
Accountabilities
- Define and maintain the target Azure cloud architecture, covering applications, data, security, identity, observability, and operations.
- Lead modernization efforts, publishing phased migration plans with milestones, owners, risks, and ROI/TCO assessments.
- Provide reference implementations, service templates, API standards, and best practices for development and deployment.
- Contribute hands-on in C#/.NET development for services, migration adapters, data pipelines, and automated tests.
- Oversee platform engineering, including Azure App Services, Functions, Front Door/WAF, Storage, Azure SQL/PostgreSQL, and AKS where appropriate.
- Build and mentor high-performing teams, setting coding standards, workflows, and upskilling engineers toward modernization goals.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure requirements, feasibility, trade-offs, and decisions are documented, socialized, and measurable.
- Establish observability, monitoring, and operational processes to maintain performance, reliability, and security.
Requirements
- 5+ years of applied solutions architecture experience, including leading multi-system modernization or migration projects.
- Strong technical expertise in .NET/C# and working knowledge of front-end frameworks such as Angular or Vue.js.
- Hands-on experience with Azure cloud services (App Services/Functions, Front Door/WAF, Storage, Azure SQL/PostgreSQL) and AKS.
- Deep understanding of SDLC, DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC); experience with Bicep is a plus.
- Expertise in enterprise integration patterns, API-first design, service-to-service security (OIDC/JWT), messaging/eventing, and contract versioning.
- Skilled in capacity planning, load/performance testing, caching strategies, and telemetry-driven optimization.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, capable of converting complex requirements into pragmatic, shippable designs.
- Independent thinker with a proven ability to integrate disparate technical concepts into cohesive solutions.
- Excellent documentation skills and the ability to present architecture and decision rationale to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Benefits
- Competitive salary and commission structure.
- Comprehensive benefits package, including health and wellness coverage.
- Opportunities for ongoing professional development and training.
- Fully remote work environment within US or Canada, with collaboration primarily on Eastern Time.
- Opportunity to make a significant impact in a growing software company.
