As a Software Engineer II (Android), you will help build and maintain high-quality mobile applications that deliver impactful digital healthcare experiences. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and other engineers to contribute to all stages of the software development lifecycle. This role emphasizes hands-on coding, collaboration, and continuous learning in a dynamic environment. You will have opportunities to leverage AI tools, adopt new technologies, and support scalable, maintainable, and secure app architectures. Your contributions will directly affect the user experience, helping users achieve meaningful outcomes through intuitive and reliable applications.
Accountabilities
In this role, you will:
- Design, develop, and maintain Android mobile applications that enhance user experience.
- Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code, following best practices and coding standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex programming and design challenges.
- Lead development tasks on medium to large projects and proactively address infrastructure or architectural needs.
- Participate in code reviews, unit and UI testing, and system design discussions.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools to enhance efficiency and innovation.
- Participate in on-call rotations to troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring system stability.
Requirements
Candidates should have:
- 3–5 years of experience in Android product development.
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin and a solid understanding of its best practices.
- Experience building scalable and maintainable app architectures.
- Strong knowledge of multi-threading, asynchronous programming, and Android frameworks (e.g., Jetpack Compose, UIKit, CoreData).
- Familiarity with design patterns such as MVVM and MVC and the ability to implement them.
- Experience with Android unit and UI testing frameworks.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
- Knowledge of app submission processes, app signing, and review guidelines.
- Curiosity, problem-solving orientation, and strong communication and collaboration skills.
Nice to have:
- Experience with Health Connect or HealthKit frameworks.
- Exposure to AI-assisted development workflows.
- Experience in regulated industries such as healthcare.
- Experience with cross-platform development (e.g., Kotlin Multiplatform).
- Apple Watch or wearable device development experience.
