This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of Huntress. We are currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer - ITDR Platform (Ruby/Rails) in the United States.
This role offers the chance to be a key contributor to cutting-edge identity threat detection and response solutions, protecting organizations from evolving cyber threats. You will design, build, and maintain scalable software systems that monitor user behaviors, logins, and access patterns to automatically detect malicious activity. Working closely with security researchers, engineers, and stakeholders, you will innovate in a fast-paced, remote-first environment where creative problem-solving and technical expertise directly impact security outcomes. The role requires full-stack development skills, the ability to tackle ambiguous problems, and a proactive approach to mentoring junior engineers. Your work will safeguard millions of endpoints and identities, shaping the next generation of enterprise cybersecurity solutions.
Accountabilities
- Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end ITDR platform solutions using Ruby on Rails.
- Build and optimize data pipelines to extract actionable insights from large-scale data streams.
- Collaborate with security researchers to understand emerging threats and implement protective measures.
- Continuously improve code quality through manual and automated testing and code reviews.
- Develop internal tools for SOC teams to detect and mitigate intrusions quickly.
- Lead and mentor junior engineers, breaking down complex problems into actionable tasks and validating designs.
- Establish engineering standards and processes to improve team efficiency and delivery quality.
- Engage with stakeholders to serve as a technical point of contact for projects and initiatives.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience developing complex software products.
- 5+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails.
- Experience working with Linux-based infrastructure.
- Proficiency in relational databases, such as Postgres.
- BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the cybersecurity industry.
- Familiarity with external APIs (REST, OData, authentication and authorization flows).
- Knowledge of identity providers such as Microsoft 365, Okta, Google Workspace, or similar.
- Experience with additional data storage technologies (Redis, Elasticsearch, MongoDB).
