As a Senior Software Engineer on the Data Platform team, you will design and build the core systems that power enterprise-scale data products. You will have the opportunity to shape the architecture of a high-performance, reliable data platform while working closely with cross-functional teams to enable data-driven features across the organization. This role emphasizes both strategic technical leadership and hands-on engineering, solving complex challenges involving large-scale datasets, distributed systems, and modern data technologies. You will contribute to designing APIs, frameworks, and infrastructure that ensure scalable, fault-tolerant data processing and drive measurable business impact. Your work will support innovation, reliability, and efficiency for internal and external data products at scale.
Accountabilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance data services and infrastructure.
- Build clean, well-tested software for ingestion, transformation, and serving of large-scale datasets.
- Engineer high-availability and fault-tolerant systems for data processing and storage.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate with upstream systems and enable data-driven features.
- Evaluate and implement distributed storage, compute, and query technologies to optimize platform performance.
- Continuously improve platform reliability, efficiency, and observability through automation and monitoring.
- Build APIs, frameworks, and libraries to standardize data processing and access across teams.
Requirements
- B.S. in Computer Science or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer or Data Engineer building production systems at scale.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals: design patterns, testing, debugging, code quality, and performance optimization.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Python, Java, Scala, or similar).
- Hands-on experience with big data technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, Spark, Hadoop/Hive).
- Strong SQL skills; experience with Snowflake is a plus.
- Familiarity with modern data tooling (e.g., dbt, Kafka, Kinesis) is desirable.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, complex environment and balance technical trade-offs with business impact.
