This role offers the opportunity to ensure the quality and reliability of high-performance desktop trading applications. You will define, implement, and maintain both manual and automated testing strategies for mission-critical software, collaborating closely with engineering, product, and design teams. The position focuses on delivering robust and scalable desktop applications with exceptional speed, stability, and usability. You will contribute to test framework design, drive automation initiatives, and maintain cross-platform testing coverage, all while supporting a fast-paced, remote-first engineering environment. Accountabilities
As a Senior QA Automation Engineer, you will:
- Develop comprehensive test plans, including manual and automated testing strategies, prior to feature development.
- Perform hands-on manual testing to validate features and uncover edge cases that automated tests might miss.
- Design, implement, and maintain desktop UI automation suites and frameworks, integrating with CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to define and improve QA processes.
- Lead automation initiatives end-to-end, ensuring scalability, performance, and coverage.
- Conduct performance, security, and accessibility testing to deliver a high-quality trading experience.
- Document, report, and triage bugs proactively to improve release quality and velocity.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong programming skills in Python or other automation-oriented languages.
- Solid experience in QA automation for desktop or complex applications.
- Proven ability to design effective test plans, balancing manual and automated testing.
- Experience with desktop automation tools such as WinAppDriver, Spectron, or PyAutoGUI.
- Understanding of QA principles including exploratory testing, regression testing, and bug tracking.
- Familiarity with CI/CD integration and automation at scale.
- Foundational knowledge of trading systems, order types, trade execution, and financial markets.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a passion for high-quality software and creative problem-solving.
Nice to have:
- Deep expertise in crypto markets or derivatives trading.
- Experience testing across Windows, macOS, and Linux environments.
- Familiarity with Rust development, Rust tooling, or declarative UI frameworks like Iced.
- Experience in fintech platforms, performance profiling, security testing, or accessibility testing.
