Senior Protocol Engineer (Remote - EU)

This role offers the opportunity to join a highly skilled infrastructure team focused on supporting and evaluating blockchain protocols. You will be responsible for running, analyzing, and optimizing protocols in test environments before production deployment, providing technical guidance, and contributing to strategic decisions on the company’s staking and DeFi roadmap. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, liaise with protocol foundations, and represent the company at ecosystem events. This position is ideal for someone passionate about Web3, crypto infrastructure, and validator operations, looking to make a direct impact in a fast-paced, cutting-edge environment.

Accountabilities

As a Senior Protocol Engineer, you will:

• Conduct technical due diligence on new blockchain protocols to evaluate their suitability for the platform’s roadmap.
• Deploy and operate protocols in testnet environments before handing over to production teams.
• Serve as a subject-matter expert, providing internal and external guidance and writing educational content on protocol operations.
• Liaise with protocol foundation teams and maintain strong professional relationships.
• Represent the company at industry and ecosystem events to strengthen community engagement.
• Support high-availability, secure, and efficient operation of validator nodes and staking infrastructure.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• 3+ years of experience in the crypto industry with a strong understanding of protocols, staking, and DeFi.
• 3+ years of DevOps experience, with a strong focus on Kubernetes.
• Hands-on experience running validator nodes (professionally or as a hobbyist).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex technical information and communicate it clearly in both written and oral form.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup or scale-up environment.
• Curiosity, ownership, and initiative to explore new protocols and technologies independently.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with high-availability systems at scale.
• Background in designing and deploying user-facing or API-based products.
• Experience in certified environments (SOC2, ISO 27001, etc.).
