This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Data Engineer (DBT/Snowflake) in India.
This role provides the opportunity to design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines that drive actionable business insights in a high-growth environment. You will work with cross-functional teams to implement scalable, automated data solutions using modern data stack technologies such as Snowflake, DBT, and Airflow. The position emphasizes both technical excellence and mentorship, allowing you to guide junior engineers while influencing the design and quality of the company’s data infrastructure. You will translate complex business requirements into efficient data models, ensure data quality, and contribute to the evolution of the data architecture. Accountabilities
- Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end ETL/ELT pipelines to support business analytics and reporting.
 - Implement scalable, automated processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading within a Data Mesh architecture.
 - Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering technical excellence and knowledge sharing.
 - Act as a subject matter expert on data technologies and best practices.
 - Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve data-related architecture and operational issues.
 - Translate business requirements into technical solutions, including DBT models, reports, and data pipelines.
 - Ensure data quality through exploratory analysis, testing, and validation of data feeds.
 - Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to optimize the availability and reliability of data.
 - Contribute to the governance of data warehouse practices, including coding standards, peer reviews, and documentation.
 
Requirements
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake or similar data warehouse technologies.
 - Proficiency with DBT, Airflow, Fivetran/Stitch, SQL, and Looker/Tableau.
 - Strong experience in data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and performance tuning.
 - Knowledge of modern data stack tools and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) is essential; familiarity with Python is a plus.
 - Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams using SCRUM or similar methodologies.
 - Strong problem-solving skills and technical documentation abilities.
 - Excellent communication skills in English and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
 - Experience with data governance, data quality tools (e.g., Great Expectations, Monte Carlo), or cataloging tools (e.g., Atlan, Alation, Collibra) is a plus.
 - Preferably experienced in fintech or digitally native companies.
