This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Data Engineer - Cloud in Latin America.
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Data Engineer to join a dynamic data platform team focused on building scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions. In this role, you will collaborate with data engineers, product managers, and data scientists to deliver enterprise-grade analytics platforms, cloud-based pipelines, and automation solutions. You will have the opportunity to design and implement innovative cloud architectures, influence technical strategy, and work on projects that directly support business decision-making. This hands-on role offers exposure to cutting-edge AWS technologies, cloud migrations, and complex data engineering challenges in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Accountabilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise cloud data platforms and applications
- Implement robust data solutions for migration, delivery, and machine learning pipelines
- Collaborate with data engineering, application development, and architecture teams on project execution
- Configure Identity Access Management (IAM) roles and security policies across AWS environments
- Automate deployment and monitoring of AWS services and BI applications
- Provide expert guidance on cloud architecture best practices and ensure alignment with strategic objectives
- Build resilient, reliable, and secure cloud-based data solutions that support internal stakeholders
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in application/platform engineering, business intelligence, or analytics
- 4+ years of hands-on AWS cloud data engineering and architecture experience
- Proficiency with data warehousing platforms such as Snowflake, Redshift, or similar
- Strong expertise in AWS services: S3, EC2, RDS, Lambda, CloudFormation, Kinesis, EMR, Step Functions, VPC, IAM, Security Groups
- Programming and scripting experience in Python, SQL, and Unix shell; PowerShell is a plus
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, Terraform)
- Knowledge of cloud monitoring, alerting, and performance optimization
- Understanding of enterprise-level architecture, security, and PaaS/SaaS application performance
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field; advanced degrees preferred
Great to have:
- Experience with streaming services (Kafka), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS Fargate)
- On-premises to AWS migration experience
- ETL development with Informatica or Airflow
- Exposure to feature stores (Tecton, SageMaker) and NoSQL databases
