This role provides the opportunity to design, implement, and optimize cloud architecture using Google Cloud Platform technologies, directly impacting the efficiency and scalability of enterprise applications. The Senior Cloud Architect will collaborate closely with stakeholders, developers, and IT teams to deliver innovative, secure, and high-performing cloud solutions. The role involves leading cloud infrastructure initiatives, defining technical requirements, and ensuring adherence to architecture standards while maintaining optimal uptime and performance. You will be at the forefront of cloud innovation, leveraging advanced tools to solve complex business challenges, and driving technical excellence across the organization. Accountabilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure cloud applications on Google Cloud Platform.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Lead a team of engineers and IT specialists in cloud infrastructure projects, ensuring adherence to architecture standards.
- Oversee front-end platforms, servers, storage, delivery networks, and cloud operations to sustain optimal performance and uptime.
- Define technical requirements, establish staffing needs, and coordinate development efforts for complex cloud projects.
- Maintain clear documentation, standards, and best practices for cloud operations.
- Stay updated on emerging cloud technologies and promote continuous learning across teams.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in production cloud environments; 5+ years preferred.
- Strong technical expertise in Google Cloud Platform tools such as GKE, Terraform, Docker, GCE, Cloud SQL, Appigee, and GitHub.
- Experience with full software development lifecycle, API integrations, and enterprise application software.
- Knowledge of networking, security, and systems engineering concepts (TCP/IP, BGP, DNS, Load Balancing, SSL).
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code solutions (Ansible, Puppet, Chef) and cloud provisioning tools (CloudFormation, Terraform).
- Proficient in scripting or programming languages such as Python, Shell, Perl, or Ruby.
- Excellent communication skills to articulate complex cloud concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Google Certified Solutions Architect or other relevant cloud certifications preferred.
