Senior Backend Engineer, PHP/Go - Remote - Europe

In this role, you will contribute to building and maintaining critical integrations that power seamless connectivity between properties and major booking platforms. You will translate business requirements into scalable, reliable backend solutions while collaborating closely with Product Managers and cross-functional teams. Working on high-volume, complex APIs, you’ll influence the technical direction of the integration platform and ensure top-tier performance, stability, and maintainability. Accountabilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services, focusing on integrations with major partners and high-volume API systems.
• Translate business requirements into effective technical solutions, collaborating with Product Managers and cross-functional teams.
• Ensure the backend architecture is scalable, reliable, and maintainable, applying best practices in software engineering.
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests to guarantee system stability and performance.
• Support continuous improvement of engineering processes, code quality, and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with Engineering Managers to break down complex projects into manageable tasks and drive delivery on schedule.
• Participate in technical discussions, offering insights to shape architecture and ensure high-quality outcomes.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in SaaS software development or similar environments.
• Strong proficiency in backend development, with a willingness and ability to work with PHP and Go.
• Experience designing and developing RESTful web APIs and service-oriented architectures.
• Familiarity with Domain Driven Design (DDD) principles and transitioning to event-driven architectures.
• Experience writing Unit Tests and Integration Tests to maintain high code quality.
• Cloud experience, preferably AWS, is a plus.
• Familiarity with message queues (e.g., AWS SQS) is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills in English (C1 level), with the ability to work effectively in remote and distributed teams.
