This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Principal Technical Program Manager, Engineering (Structures / M&P) in the United States.
This role offers the opportunity to lead complex aerospace engineering programs from concept through production, with a focus on structures and materials. You will manage schedules, budgets, and technical plans while coordinating cross-functional teams and external suppliers to ensure program success. By providing clarity, tracking progress, and mitigating risks, you will directly influence program outcomes and product performance. The position requires a proactive, systems-oriented mindset, strong communication skills, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-stakes technical environment. You will serve as the connective tissue between engineers, management, and stakeholders, ensuring alignment across all program phases. This is a role for someone who thrives on responsibility, detail, and seeing the bigger picture in advanced aerospace projects.
Accountabilities:
- Develop, maintain, and communicate program budgets, schedules, and product development plans to all stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Structures and Materials & Process work package owners across requirements, design, manufacturing, testing, certification, and production phases.
- Support supply chain activities, including management of external suppliers.
- Provide engineering inputs to the integrated master schedule for accurate metrics and program visibility.
- Track goals, deliverables, risks, and mitigation plans; implement execution rhythms and tools to ensure alignment and accountability.
- Assess resource requirements, identify gaps, and coordinate with other TPMs to generate comprehensive project reports.
- Manage the project roadmap within the framework of overall program strategy and priorities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 8 years in technical program/project management, preferably in aerospace; total experience of 10+ years.
- Experience in structures engineering across the product lifecycle, including composite materials and aerostructures certification.
- Demonstrated project management experience through design, testing, and qualification phases.
- Proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project, Primavera, Jama, Jira, or similar.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work cross-functionally and manage conflict.
- Experience implementing standard processes, proactive follow-up, and autonomous decision-making in ambiguous situations.
- Familiarity with Dassault 3DX is preferred.
