As a Principal Field Engineer, you will lead the adoption and optimization of advanced software solutions across key customer accounts. You will collaborate directly with client teams to design and implement solution architectures, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and drive operational excellence across self-hosted and cloud environments. This role combines strategic technical leadership, hands-on engineering, and customer engagement, giving you the opportunity to influence product adoption, mentor peers, and deliver tangible impact across multiple high-profile customer deployments. The position emphasizes autonomy, innovation, and the ability to thrive in a fast-moving, highly collaborative technical environment.
Accountabilities
- Design, deploy, and configure complex software solutions in customer environments, ensuring alignment with best practices.
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers, providing triage, troubleshooting, and escalation for high-complexity issues.
- Lead onboarding, training, and adoption initiatives, including development and delivery of customized programs.
- Plan and execute Quarterly Business Results meetings, driving adoption and enterprise-wide rollout strategies.
- Maintain and expand strong working relationships with client stakeholders and document business goals and challenges.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on current and upcoming software offerings, sharing knowledge with internal teams and customers.
- Collaborate with Sales and Product teams to identify opportunities for upsell, cross-sell, and product improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 12+ years of experience in customer-facing software onboarding, solution architecture, software services, or system administration roles.
- Strong Linux administration skills and hands-on experience with major public cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure); certifications preferred.
- Deep understanding and hands-on experience with Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD certification a plus).
- Expertise in security principles and technologies, including SSH, PKI, 2FA, SSO (SAML, OIDC), and RBAC.
- Exceptional troubleshooting, testing, and debugging skills.
- Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple customer engagements simultaneously.
