This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Mid QA Engineer – Data & ETL Testing in the United States.
As a Mid QA Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of enterprise data across complex data warehouse and cloud-based environments. You will work closely with data engineers, architects, and analysts to validate ETL processes, data pipelines, and reporting outputs. This role combines hands-on testing with opportunities to enhance QA automation frameworks and improve data quality processes. You will have a direct impact on delivering trustworthy data for business intelligence and analytics, helping stakeholders make informed, data-driven decisions. The position offers a collaborative, remote-friendly environment with opportunities to grow technical expertise in modern data platforms and testing practices.
Accountabilities
- Perform source-to-target data validation using SQL and automated testing approaches.
- Validate data transformations, ensure completeness, and confirm data accuracy across ETL pipelines.
- Test ETL workflows, dimensional models, and reporting outputs in BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Develop and execute data validation test plans, documenting and resolving data quality issues.
- Implement QA automation frameworks to streamline data testing and ensure repeatable results.
- Collaborate with business analysts, data engineers, and QA leads to define requirements and testing strategies.
- Prepare detailed reports on validation results, quality metrics, and findings to support decision-making.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 2–7 years of experience in data warehouse, ETL, or data testing roles.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, RDBMS, and ETL validation processes.
- Hands-on experience validating reports in BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent.
- Understanding of Data Warehousing, ETL, and Data Quality concepts.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to provide off-hour support if required.
Preferred / Additional Skills:
- Experience with SSIS, MS SQL Server, Snowflake, or DBT.
- Familiarity with QA automation tools and frameworks.
- Understanding of hybrid (on-premises and cloud) data architectures.
- Experience with insurance or financial data is a plus.
