This role offers the opportunity to lead and deliver high-quality software in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. As a Software Development Manager, you will oversee the end-to-end delivery of production-level software, managing teams of engineers while collaborating closely with Product Owners, QA, and leadership. You will champion engineering best practices, drive technical excellence, and ensure the successful execution of projects with tangible business impact. The position emphasizes mentorship, hands-on technical involvement, and fostering a high-performance culture where innovation, accountability, and collaboration are valued. You will be responsible for guiding teams in service ownership, system design, and implementation of scalable features. The role allows you to influence both technical strategy and organizational growth while working remotely within India.
Accountabilities
- Lead the delivery of production-level software, ensuring quality, reliability, and timely execution.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, QA, and Directors to align engineering goals with organizational objectives.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to software engineering teams.
- Manage team performance, project progress, and resource allocation.
- Implement and maintain engineering best practices, including coding standards, testing, and DevOps processes.
- Own the full lifecycle of features from design to implementation, including service-level system design.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Participate in hiring and team development initiatives to build a high-performing engineering team.
Requirements
- 9+ years of software development experience.
- 3+ years of people management, including performance management.
- 3+ years of project management experience across single or multiple stakeholders.
- Experience with service ownership; preferably Tier-1 services.
- Strong problem-solving, programming, and communication skills.
- Object-oriented programming expertise.
- Experience owning features and services of varying complexity, from small scoped tasks to large systems.
- Knowledge of QA, DevOps, continuous integration, and defensive coding practices (OWASP).
- Familiarity with SQL, JSON, REST, .NET, C#, ASP.NET MVC, JavaScript, relational DB concepts and design.
- Experience with agile methodologies, team building, and automating infrastructure and build processes.
- Exposure to Microsoft Azure, event-driven (EDA), and service-oriented (SOA) architectures.
- Nice-to-have: Vue.js, Azure DevOps, Azure Functions, App Services, Service Bus, and Storage Queues.
