The Manager, Data Engineering will lead a team responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data infrastructure and pipelines that support enterprise-wide decision-making. This role provides technical leadership while collaborating with data scientists, analysts, and cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity, availability, and security. You will oversee the development and optimization of ETL processes, implement best practices for data governance, and evaluate emerging technologies to enhance data processing capabilities. The position requires a hands-on, problem-solving mindset, with an emphasis on mentoring team members and delivering high-quality, reliable data solutions. Accountabilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, fostering innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Design, implement, and optimize scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to meet evolving business needs
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver data solutions
- Ensure data quality, governance, security, and compliance with industry standards and best practices
- Evaluate and integrate new tools, platforms, and technologies to enhance data infrastructure and processing capabilities
- Monitor and maintain data system performance, troubleshooting and resolving issues proactively
Requirements:
- Proven experience in data engineering, with a strong understanding of data architecture, ETL processes, and pipeline design
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark)
- Strong leadership skills, with experience managing and mentoring data engineering teams
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams
- Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practices
