This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Lead Java Developer in the United States.
This role offers the opportunity to lead full-stack Java development for mission-critical enterprise applications supporting federal and DoD programs. You will design, develop, and maintain secure, production-grade systems that manage identity and credential lifecycle operations across complex networks. The position requires navigating cybersecurity compliance, containerized deployments, and cloud infrastructure while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. You will troubleshoot production issues, implement cyber remediation, and contribute to system integration efforts. This role emphasizes both hands-on development and leadership in creating scalable, secure, and compliant enterprise solutions.
Accountabilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance secure web applications using Java EE/Spring Boot, Angular, and WebLogic.
- Support production systems deployed on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and manage environment-specific configurations.
- Implement cybersecurity fixes based on Fortify scans and security testing reports.
- Integrate applications with identity management protocols (e.g., SAML 2.0, PKI, SSL) and biometric components.
- Perform builds and deployments using GitHub, Maven, and Jenkins.
- Collaborate in Agile ceremonies, update JIRA tasks, and assist in Tier III support.
- Work closely with stakeholders, including Cyber, Database, Operational Support, and Product teams, to ensure alignment and operational excellence.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Minimum 7 years of Java EE/Spring Boot application development experience.
- Strong front-end skills with Angular (v13+), HTML, CSS and back-end experience in Java, Spring MVC, REST APIs.
- Knowledge of WebLogic 12c or similar middleware.
- Hands-on experience with cybersecurity compliance, ATO processes, and PKI/SAML/SSL protocols.
- Familiarity with GitHub, Maven, Jenkins, Sonatype, and Fortify for DevOps and secure builds.
- Experience in a DoD or Federal IT environment preferred.
- Nice-to-have: OCI and containerization (Docker), biometric integrations (BioSP/BioComponent, SecuGen), DISA E-ICAM experience, DoD 8140 certification, Agile and JIRA/Confluence familiarity.
