This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a GPS - Cyber Security Engineer - Supervising Associate in the United States.
This role offers an opportunity to lead and coordinate cyber security activities in a large-scale, complex environment supporting government and public sector operations. You will ensure the security, compliance, and performance of multiple technologies, while guiding teams through upgrades, new deployments, and operational challenges. The position involves remote collaboration, incident management, and on-call responsibilities. You will mentor staff, document processes, and provide technical oversight across a variety of platforms, including cloud environments, endpoint security, and network infrastructure. Your work will directly impact the resilience and effectiveness of critical information systems.
Accountabilities
- Lead and support the run state of security technologies across government and public sector engagements.
- Provide operational expertise during the introduction of new technologies and upgrades of existing systems.
- Ensure Information Security technologies operate within agreed service levels, compliance standards, and peak performance.
- Manage planned maintenance, incidents, and escalations for assigned systems.
- Represent the team in projects, providing technical guidance and overseeing activities to successful completion.
- Articulate technology issues across technical stacks and communicate effectively with leadership.
- Participate in on-call rotations, occasional weekend support, and off-hours tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years managing Information Systems and Security, with demonstrable platform knowledge and interactions.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft and Azure security services, including Microsoft Sentinel, Defender XDR, Defender for Endpoint, Entra ID, Azure Firewall, and related cloud security tools.
- Operational knowledge of security technologies: Azure networking, cloud operations, containerization, CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps, and traffic/load management.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills across complex, multi-vendor environments.
- Experience documenting processes, procedures, and security controls clearly for internal and external audiences.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain Top Secret Security Clearance.
- Preferred certifications: AZ-900, AZ-500, AZ-303, CISSP, GSEC, or GIAC.
- Familiarity with Federal security frameworks (FedRAMP, NIST SP 800-53/171) and federal government experience (CMMC Level 3) is a plus.
