This role offers the opportunity to lead a high-performing team responsible for building and scaling payment experiences and APIs that power seamless fiat and crypto transactions. You will guide both backend and frontend engineers in delivering reliable, secure, and performant systems that underpin a fast-growing ecosystem. The position involves close collaboration with product managers, designers, and external partners to define and implement high-impact features with measurable business and customer value. You will drive engineering excellence, mentor team members, and foster a culture of ownership, technical growth, and collaboration. The role also emphasizes maintaining consistent architecture and quality standards across multiple platforms while managing agile processes and performance metrics. It is a fully remote-friendly position that allows you to influence the future of blockchain and payment infrastructure globally.
Accountabilities:
- Lead a cross-functional team of backend and frontend engineers to design, develop, and scale payments and B2B API experiences.
- Partner with Product and Design teams to define high-impact features and ensure alignment with business objectives and customer needs.
- Drive engineering excellence, including code quality, maintainability, and adoption of best practices.
- Mentor engineers, cultivate technical growth, and promote a culture of collaboration and ownership.
- Collaborate with other engineering managers and tech leads to maintain consistent architecture, standards, and processes across platforms.
- Strengthen team organization and delivery through agile methodologies, project tracking, and performance metrics (e.g., DORA, cycle time).
Requirements
- Proven experience leading engineering teams delivering products at scale, including combined frontend and backend teams.
- Deep technical background with expertise in modern backend architectures, API design, and scalable system design (experience with Rust or similar languages preferred).
- Strong cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a multi-platform, complex environment.
- Experience in fintech or payment products is highly desirable.
- Empathy for the customer and a passion for building intuitive, high-performing user experiences.
