This role offers the opportunity to lead a team responsible for building and scaling critical financial infrastructure that powers fiat transactions across a global platform. You will provide both technical and people leadership, guiding engineers to deliver robust, high-throughput microservices and APIs. The position involves working at the intersection of traditional finance and modern technology, ensuring seamless integration with global banking partners. You will drive technical strategy, oversee architectural decisions, and foster a high-performing team culture. Accountabilities
As an Engineering Manager, you will:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers, conducting regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development discussions.
- Build and maintain a high-performing engineering culture focused on collaboration, excellence, and innovation.
- Drive technical strategy and architectural decisions for the Fiat Rails team roadmap.
- Ensure delivery of scalable, reliable microservices for processing fiat transactions and developing robust APIs for banking integrations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product and Design, to define priorities, implement new features, and maintain operational excellence.
- Champion engineering best practices, code quality, monitoring, and system reliability.
- Represent the team in leadership meetings, strategic planning, and stakeholder communications.
Requirements
Candidates should have:
- 7+ years of engineering experience, with 3+ years in an engineering management role.
- Strong technical expertise in full-stack web development, including modern frontend frameworks and backend systems.
- Experience building and scaling customer-facing applications with complex workflows, authentication, and authorization requirements.
- Proven track record delivering large technical initiatives and managing stakeholder relationships.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, product, and business teams.
- Demonstrated ability to recruit, mentor, and grow engineering talent.
- Experience implementing engineering best practices, monitoring, and operational excellence in high-growth environments.
- Familiarity with AI tools to enhance engineering workflows is a plus.
- Previous experience in fintech or regulated industries is desirable but not required.
