We are seeking a skilled Embedded Software Engineer to join a fast-paced product development team focused on wireless cameras and IoT devices. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and optimization of embedded systems, collaborating with hardware engineers, mobile software teams, and third-party partners. You will take a leading role in firmware development, image processing, and wireless connectivity solutions while ensuring product performance, reliability, and regulatory compliance. This position offers the chance to work on innovative technologies, influence product architecture, and gain hands-on experience across hardware-software integration in a dynamic environment.
Accountabilities:
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of embedded software for wireless camera and IoT devices.
- Maintain and improve embedded software architecture and support prototyping efforts.
- Provide technical guidance to internal teams and third-party design partners.
- Collaborate closely with hardware engineers to ensure seamless integration with electronic components.
- Work with mobile development teams to enable iOS and Android application integration.
- Support Bluetooth/BLE, Cellular/LTE, and Wi-Fi regulatory testing and compliance efforts.
- Assist QA teams with triage and resolution of product verification and validation issues.
- Develop and maintain documentation for software design, testing, and integration processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–8 years of experience in embedded software engineering using C/C++.
- Experience with IoT video streaming protocols (H.264/RTSP/WebRTC).
- Proficient in embedded Linux board bring-up (Buildroot or Yocto).
- Strong object-oriented design skills and knowledge of design patterns.
- Familiarity with Git version control, DevOps workflows, Jira, GitHub, and GitLab.
- Hands-on experience with embedded debugging tools such as oscilloscopes and protocol analyzers.
- Knowledge of communication interfaces including I2C, SPI, UART, USB, and MIPI CSI-2.
- Understanding of software security best practices and network protocols.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
- Ability to communicate complex technical information to diverse stakeholders effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with AWS C/C++ SDKs (S3, MQTT, Kinesis).
- Knowledge of IoT OTA update methods.
- Familiarity with scripting tools such as Bash, Python, or LuaJIT.
- Experience in image compression and transmission algorithms.
- Understanding of LTE networks, cellular operators, and wireless communication technologies.
