DBA (Data Base Administrator)

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a DBA (Database Administrator) in India.

This role offers an opportunity to manage, optimize, and maintain critical database systems that support enterprise applications and high-volume data environments. You will be responsible for ensuring database performance, reliability, and security across SQL Server and MySQL platforms. Working closely with IT and development teams, you will design solutions for high availability, disaster recovery, and efficient data management. The role involves both hands-on technical execution and strategic planning, allowing you to make a direct impact on business continuity and system performance in a dynamic, remote-first environment.

Accountabilities

• Administer and maintain SQL Server and MySQL databases, ensuring availability, integrity, and performance.
• Perform performance tuning, optimization, and monitoring using native and third-party tools.
• Implement backup, restore, and recovery strategies, including disaster recovery planning.
• Configure and manage high availability (HA) and failover solutions.
• Work with Windows servers and Active Directory to ensure proper integration and security.
• Collaborate with development and IT teams to support database-driven applications and troubleshoot issues.
• Organize, plan, and prioritize work independently while adapting to a rapidly changing environment.
• Provide technical guidance on multi-tasking, context-switching, and database best practices.
• Support cloud database technologies, particularly AWS, as part of ongoing infrastructure initiatives.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of experience in SQL Server and MySQL database administration.
• Strong experience with performance tuning, monitoring, and optimization (PTO).
• Solid knowledge of backups, restores, and recovery models.
• Expertise in high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) strategies.
• Experience with Windows Server environments, including Active Directory.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with AWS and other database technologies is a plus.
• B.Tech/B.E. or equivalent degree.
