Data Scientist I (Remote - US)

Accountabilities

• Develop, refine, and deploy machine learning models powering marketplace operations, including scoring, pricing, and optimization.
• Contribute to both greenfield and ongoing projects, bringing innovative approaches to predictive and prescriptive analytics.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, product managers, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into data science solutions.
• Design experiments, evaluate model performance, and implement testing frameworks to ensure accuracy, reliability, and business impact.
• Explore new datasets and techniques to expand AI capabilities and enhance decision-making.
• Support model deployment and monitoring in cloud environments (AWS preferred), ensuring smooth operation and scalability.

Requirements

• Approximately 2 years of experience as a data scientist or equivalent role, with demonstrable impact on business outcomes.
• Strong programming skills in Python, with experience using libraries such as pandas, scikit-learn, XGBoost, or LightGBM.
• Solid SQL skills and the ability to manipulate and analyze large datasets.
• Understanding of statistical modeling, experimentation techniques, and exposure to deep learning or generative AI.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and interest in learning MLOps practices.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Comfortable working in small, collaborative teams with direct impact on products and processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with BI tools like Looker or Tableau for data analysis purposes.
• Familiarity with end-to-end model lifecycle, including feature engineering, model deployment, and performance monitoring.
