This role offers an exciting opportunity to work hands-on with advanced building automation systems, delivering energy-efficient solutions to a wide variety of facilities. As a Field Technician, you will be responsible for commissioning, installing, and optimizing control systems while serving as a key technical resource for customers. You will work closely with other engineers, mentors, and clients to ensure systems operate effectively and efficiently. This position suits someone with strong technical aptitude, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly. Accountabilities
As a Building Automation and Controls Field Technician, you will:
- Install, configure, troubleshoot, and optimize building automation systems, including controls, sensors, and software.
- Provide turnkey project delivery for medium to large-scale projects, ensuring systems operate properly and meet client expectations.
- Mentor and train less experienced field engineers on tools, technology, and best practices.
- Serve as a local point of contact for technical issues and offer effective solutions to complex system challenges.
- Load software, configure trends, alarms, and reports, and provide site-specific training to owners and operators.
- Communicate and document project progress, status, and technical details for customers.
- Implement time management strategies to maximize efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s or Associate degree in HVAC, Controls, or related technical field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in building automation, HVAC, or a technical field.
- Proficiency with building automation software (e.g., WebCTRL) and experience installing or integrating control systems.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP networks and wireless technologies.
- Ability to climb ladders or use lift equipment over 8 feet and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Valid driver’s license and insurable under company policies.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
- Comfortable interacting with diverse stakeholders and explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications.
