This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Backend API Engineer in Tennessee (USA).
This role is ideal for a skilled backend developer who enjoys building scalable, high-performance APIs and supporting full software lifecycles. You will define, develop, test, and maintain backend services while collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate applications with cloud platforms and databases. The position involves working with both legacy systems and modern technologies, contributing to software migration initiatives, and ensuring robust, reliable solutions. You will have the opportunity to engage with AWS cloud services, SQL Server, and microservices architectures, while occasionally supporting front-end integration. This hybrid role fosters professional growth in a collaborative environment with a mix of remote and onsite work. Accountabilities
- Define, develop, test, and maintain new and existing backend services and RESTful APIs.
- Support cloud migration initiatives to AWS and maintain high-performance applications.
- Collaborate with team members to design and implement scalable backend solutions.
- Assist with SQL Server database integrations and provide occasional support for front-end components in ReactJS.
- Debug, optimize, and document software for new and existing applications.
- Contribute to defining software requirements, project deliverables, and development timelines.
- Ensure software quality through testing, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Associate degree in a relevant field.
- 3–5 years of professional experience in backend development.
- Strong experience with RESTful APIs, C#, .NET Core, and Microsoft Visual Studio.
- Hands-on experience with AWS Cloud, including application migration.
- Basic knowledge of VB.Net is acceptable.
- Backend experience with SQL Server, including database integration.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and modern development practices.
- Front-end exposure with ReactJS, JavaScript, and jQuery is a plus.
- Effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-starter with strong analytical skills and adaptability to work with both legacy and modern technologies.
Nice to Have:
- Additional hands-on experience with .NET Core.
- Familiarity with broader .NET frameworks and backend services design.
