Members contribute their professional skills and leverage their networks in service of the organization’s gender-equity agenda.Membership is a minimum six-month commitment of approximately six flexible hours per week and includes a $100 refundable deposit, returned after six months of active membership. K–12 educators, retirees, veterans, interns, and students are exempt from the deposit.
Overview
We are seeking a tech-savvy and innovative AI Agent Developer to join our volunteer team. This individual will design, implement, and optimize AI-powered agents using Large Language Models (LLMs) to help streamline access to internal organizational knowledge and implement Agentic AI. Your work will directly support our 100% volunteer-powered team by improving how volunteers interact with and retrieve information from platforms like Google Drive, Salesforce, Slack, and Atlassian Jira.
Responsibilities
- Develop and refine AI agents powered by Large Language Models (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, etc.) to support JerseySTEM's internal operations.
- Integrate AI tools with existing platforms (Google Workspace, Salesforce, Jira, Slack) to retrieve relevant knowledge, answer volunteer questions, and guide workflows.
- Create conversational flows, prompt chains, and context windows that allow volunteers to interact naturally with the AI agents.
- Maintain, test, and improve AI agents for accuracy, performance, and usability.
- Collaborate with the Operations, Technology, and Volunteer Onboarding teams to identify high-impact knowledge use cases.
- Document processes and provide training materials or onboarding instructions to help volunteers adopt the AI tools.
Qualifications
- Experience with LLMs (e.g., OpenAI GPT, Claude, or similar), prompt engineering, or AI agent frameworks.
- Familiarity with APIs or no-code/low-code tools for integrating AI with third-party platforms (e.g., Zapier, Make.com, Google Apps Script, Slack bots).
- Comfortable navigating and organizing content within Google Drive, Jira, Slack, and Salesforce.
- Strong communication skills to gather requirements and document technical solutions.
- Passion for education equity, community service, or nonprofit work.
- Ability to commit to ~6 hours/week for a minimum of 6 months.
