FLEET MANAGER

The Fleet Manager will develop and implement strategies to support Inframark’s mission of providing the most cost-effective planning, acquisition, maintenance, and usage of fleet assets across its customer portfolio. This position will be responsible for managing the deployment, operations and maintenance of all motor vehicles and equipment both owned and leased.

This position ensures adherence to the policies, practices and procedures that effectively and safely utilize the fleet and ensures the availability of cost competitive services that enable the operating departments to fulfill all commitments to customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works with Operations to develop vehicle and equipment specifications.
  • Manage the upfitting specifications and installs.
  • Prepare annual bulk factory orders in line with business needs.
  • Work with Finance Business Partners to collect budget requirements and align with annual bulk orders.
  • Source vehicles local to the projects when factory orders are not available at the most cost-effective price.
  • Reviews and approves purchase orders for all fleet and equipment and ensures all purchase orders are received

Drive process improvement to continue to improve fleet usage, maintenance, and acquisition

  • Manages the oversight of vehicle repairs, vehicle maintenance, and responsible to audit and review any fleet related invoicing.
  • Manage relocation/transfer of fleet and equipment.
  • Monitors KPI’s actual vs. target to identify and address poor performance and opportunities for improvement.
  • Responsible for management of any escalation and problem resolutions with all fleet issues.
  • Develops and updates fleet policy and procedures encompassing vehicle assignment, personal use, replacement, maintenance, disposal, accident reporting and other processes.
  • Process development around fleet right sizing.
  • Manages the utilization of the company fleet to maximize usage.

Manages outsourced fleet management and maintenance company.

  • Manages emergency response equipment including generators and mobile units as required.
  • Manage vehicle fuel, grease, and consumables.
  • Develop business case/ROI on Insourcing vs. outsourcing decisions on fleet maintenance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience & Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college preferred
  • 5-8 years related work experience in fleet management
  • Manage fleets of 1000 units at a minimum
  • Experience in managing an outsourced fleet management company preferred
  • The role holder must be able to demonstrate experience within a similar environment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The work environment is characteristic of an office environment: sitting, standing, walking, bending and lifting are required to perform job responsibilities. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 20 lbs.
