Network & Server Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Network & Server Engineer to manage, maintain, and optimize our IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of the organization’s servers, networks, and security systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, configure, and maintain LAN/WAN, VPN, firewalls, and other network infrastructure.

Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot physical and virtual servers (Windows/Linux).

Monitor server performance and uptime; proactively resolve issues.

Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and file/print services.

Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and high availability solutions.

Ensure security best practices are followed across all systems.

Perform patch management and system updates regularly.

Maintain documentation for infrastructure and processes.

Provide Tier 2/3 support for escalated technical issues.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure projects.

Conduct basic vulnerability assessments and report findings.

Assist in maintaining user access controls and policies (e.g., firewall rules, ACLs, etc.)

Perform routine checks on network logs and devices for anomalies.

Configure, manage, and troubleshoot security appliances: firewalls (Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet), VPNs, IDS/IPS, WAFs.

Investigate and mitigate malware, phishing, and intrusion attempts.

Participate in change management and risk assessment processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

4+ years of experience in network and server administration.

Strong knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP).

Hands-on experience with Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Linux (CentOS, Ubuntu).

Familiarity with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V).

Experience with Firewalls, Switches, and Routers (Cisco, Fortinet, etc.).

Scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Bash) is a plus.

Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Certifications such as CCNA, MCSA/MCSE, CompTIA Network+/Security+ are a plus.

Understanding of security frameworks and compliance standards (ISO 27001, NIST, PCI-DSS)

Ability to work in a 24/7 environment, including on-call rotation.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Familiarity with monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, PRTG, etc.).

Experience in ITIL or other ITSM frameworks.
