You will be working as a Project Technical Engineer (Emirati nationals) and will be a part of the Hitachi Energy based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In this role you will be responsible for performing the following task in projects and tenders typically under the supervision of an experienced senior engineer.
Your responsibilities:
- Study of tender documents, preparation of clarifications and technical proposals in coordination with other stake holders.
- Study the technical specifications of project or tender and translate the requirements into design, bill of materials, datasheets, request for supplier quotations as applicable.
- Apply the domain technical knowledge for developing, verifying and optimizing technical solutions for projects and tenders working with relevant stake holders.
- Prepare and review design calculations, studies, drawings, bill of materials for own field of work and provide inputs/avail inputs from other internal and external stake holders.
- Monitor and contribute the progress of design by follow up and issue resolution.
- To act as an interface between customer on technical matters and handle customer queries and responses etc.
- Interact with suppliers and partners for ensuring progress as per schedule, design deliverables etc. Verify supplier documents for technical correctness and compliance to customer requirements.
- Coordination with site team for technical matters during installation & commissioning, provide guidance and resolve technical issues.

Background
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from a reputed institute.
- Master’s degree in power systems or power electronics will be an added advantage.
- The position requires up to 3 years’ experience in a relevant field. However fresh graduates with good academic track record can apply.
- Thorough understanding of power system reactive power compensation fundamentals.
- Understanding of power electronics and applications.
- General understanding of substation and transmission networks, power generation, knowledge of protection relaying, substation automation and control systems
- Work experience in electrical design with exposure to power electronics application, substation design engineering, high voltage engineering, reactive power compensation, power system studies, substation automation or protection relaying will be an added advantage.
- Experience in relevant design or study software will be added advantage.
- Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
