Job Description:

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Director Process Engineering - North America. This management position will be instrumental in planning, executing and maintaining a comprehensive process quality engineering strategy throughout the North American footprint, including all manufacturing, service, and repair operations. This leadership position will have management responsibility for Process Quality Engineers and directional responsibility for Process Engineers located at the manufacturing and repair facilities to identify critical-to-quality processes/manufacturing steps, verify the effectiveness of process controls, and establish quality measures to ensure compliance and drive prevention.

Your responsibilities

  • Direct line management responsibility for Process Quality Engineers.
  • Mentor and develop Process Engineering teams within the plants.
  • Ensure a recurring data-driven process at each factory to determine leading causes of customer quality issues, product test failures and other internal nonconformances.
  • Drive detailed investigations, root cause analysis, containment and preventive actions for these nonconformances.
  • Proactively identify critical-to-quality processes and prioritize risks based upon a Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) approach.
  • Drive the application of Quality Engineering tools (Statistical Process Control, Capability Studies, Measurement Systems Analysis, FMEAs, etc.) to eliminate sources of variation and risks.
  • Continuously improve manufacturing and quality processes and efficiency using a preventive approach.
  • Establish the overall strategy deployment, including the key initiatives, responsibilities, action plan and timelines for Process Quality Engineers and Process Engineers.

Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum 10 years of experience in quality and/or process engineering management.
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems, FMEAs, Control Plans, PPAPs, and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in supervisor or management role.
