The Opportunity

Power transformers are a critical foundation of the electrical power grid. As electricity demand continues to grow over the next several decades, utilities and asset owners must both deploy new equipment and extend the service life of existing transformers to maintain grid reliability and performance. Transformer life‑extension projects also offer meaningful sustainability benefits by reducing the need for new equipment manufacturing.

In this role, you will manage transformer service projects focused on maintenance and life‑extension of large power transformers. You will work across engineering, logistics, and field service teams while serving as the primary customer interface. Your work will directly contribute to the safe, reliable, and long‑term operation of critical grid assets, while supporting customers in extending the value and performance of their transformer fleets.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Manage multiple transformer service projects related to maintenance and life‑extension activities
  • Ensure high‑quality project execution across engineering, logistics planning, and field service phases
  • Act as the primary customer interface from order handover through project completion
  • Develop, control, and monitor project budgets, including expense forecasting
  • Create detailed project schedules, resource plans, and execution strategies
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans to support smooth delivery
  • Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to ensure project progress and alignment
  • Drive consistent project delivery in compliance with internal processes
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background

  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in Canada.
  • Trade education, college diploma, or university degree in a technical field (electrical or mechanical)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in transformer service or related areas (manufacturing, engineering design, or factory project management)
  • Experience working with substations and/or large power transformers
  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven customer relationship capabilities
  • Fluency in French and English
