The opportunity:

Our Grid Automation business unit has a comprehensive portfolio of solutions. These range from substation automation, communication networks, grid automation services, grid edge solutions to enterprise software solutions. These solutions address all key segments connected to the energy system including generation, transmission distribution, industries, transportation and infrastructure sectors. Hitachi Energy's Grid Automation business unit supports 50% of the top 250 global electric utilities. The Regional Re-export EPC Business Development Manager is a strategic addition to the Grid Automation business and is responsible for developing the business in the focus segment of Re-export for Grid Automation, with a primary focus on products and system sales within the Automation and Communication (AC) and Enterprise Software Solutions (ESS) business in the APAC region.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • You will own the market definition, segmentation and prospecting plan for the focus segment.

  • You will be responsible for the identification of key opportunities related to GA products and stakeholder management within those target EPCs in the APAC region.

  • You will increase the pipeline and orders in the APAC Re-export segment, support value proposition meetings by localizing technical proposals and attending Front-End-Sales / regular Re-export Channel meetings.

  • You will lead or support (initiatives) under the guidance of Hitachi Energy – Grid Automation APAC and in line with its best practices, with a focus on identifying and tracking opportunities for GA products in projects of APAC’s EPCs, identify, interpret, and prioritize local regulatory standards and requirements.

  • You will coordinate the internal stakeholders in the region and the Global Product Group.

  • You will support and collaborate with the local Front-End-Sales team, while cross-collaborating with business units, global business developers and experts from the Global Product Group (GPG).

  • You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:

  • Possess qualifications in Software Engineering and International Trade, or equivalent qualifications.

  • Sales and marketing, business developer (hunter) skills, with over 20 years of experience in system and government relations management and solution sales.

  • Preference for candidates who can demonstrate China or Korea EPC regional experience and experience in the Electrical and Enterprise Software domains within the T&D (Transmission and Distribution) and energy industry.

  • Strong capabilities in channel development and management, and the ability to cross-collaborate within large energy enterprises.

  • Skilled in contract negotiation, contract management and solution selling. Able to work and collaborate with multiple stakeholders and across different positions. Able to adapt to frequent international business trips.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese.
