Learn more about Helm.ai and their company culture.
Helm.ai is a provider of advanced AI software for high-end Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), autonomous driving, and robotics automation. Founded in November 2016 and headquartered in Redwood City, California, the company is dedicated to making scalable autonomous driving a reality by reimagining AI software development. Helm.ai offers full-stack real-time AI solutions, encompassing deep neural networks for both highway and urban driving scenarios, end-to-end autonomous systems, and sophisticated development and validation tools. These tools are powered by their proprietary Deep Teaching™ methodology and generative AI. Deep Teaching™, a form of unsupervised learning developed by Helm.ai, significantly reduces the reliance on large-scale fleet data, traditional simulations, HD maps, and human annotation, making their approach more scalable and cost-efficient.
The company collaborates with global automakers and Tier 1 suppliers on production-bound projects, aiming to empower them to launch the world's safest and most advanced L2 through L4 autonomous driving systems at scale. Helm.ai's AI-first approach involves conducting frontier research, developing AI models within a comprehensive safety framework, and continuously improving and validating these systems with their foundation models. Their technology is designed to be hardware-agnostic, allowing for flexible integration with any vehicle type or sensor configuration. Helm.ai has introduced several innovative products, including Helm.ai Driver, a vision-only real-time path prediction neural network for urban driving that operates without HD maps or Lidar. They have also developed generative AI models like GenSim-2, VidGen-2, and WorldGen-1, which create and modify highly realistic video data and simulate the entire autonomous vehicle stack for training and validation purposes. These advancements aim to accelerate development timelines, reduce costs, and address the long tail of corner cases in autonomous driving. Helm.ai has achieved ASPICE Capability Level 2, demonstrating its readiness for mass production of safety-critical software.
