The Head of Sales is responsible for overseeing and managing the sales operations within the organization. This role involves developing strategic sales plans, building and maintaining client relationships, and ensuring that the sales and servicing teams meet their targets and objectives.
About the job
- Lead National Sales and Pricing Teams to grow profit and volumes. Focus on Airfreight, Seafreight (FCL & LCL), CLC, and Roadfreight. Develop trade lanes, secure sales, support team, ensure quality implementation, and retain and upsell existing customers
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company sales targets and expand the customer base
- Prepare and manage sales budgets and forecasts. Accordingly responsible for sales P&L
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders
- Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and retention
- Oversee the entire sales process from lead generation to closing deals
- Monitor sales and servicing metrics and prepare regular reports for senior management
- Identify and build relationships with key customers in various industries, from SMEs to large enterprises
- Actively pursue leads, negotiate contracts, and close sales to achieve revenue targets
About you
- Must display clear knowledge and understanding of the forwarding and clearing industry, including but not limited to Sea freight function, Air freight function, Road freight function, import function, export function, warehousing function, etc.
- Knowledge of cost estimating techniques
- Proven track record of target achievement, new business acquisition and return on investmentSuperior market knowledge – remain up to date in terms of logistics operations globally and use this to your advantage to leverage sales and provide solutions to customers
- At least 7 to 10 years’ experience in a similar role
- BCom in Supply Chain is advantageous or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Head of Sales or in a similar senior sales role
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
