We are seeking an experienced and driven Azure Cloud Reliability Engineer to join our high-performing technology team. In this role, you will design, implement, and manage our business-critical infrastructure on Microsoft Azure with a strong focus on scalability, security, reliability, and performance.
This is a high-impact, hands-on technical position where your Azure expertise and site reliability engineering (SRE) practices will directly influence the availability and resilience of our systems. You'll work cross-functionally with Engineering, IT Services, DevOps, and Security teams to build infrastructure that is cloud-native, automated, observable, and secure
Success in this role will be measured by high system availability, proactive monitoring, robust disaster recovery, effective project execution, and knowledge sharing within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as our Azure SME, constantly evaluating our infrastructure against evolving industry best practices and tool offerings, and providing clear technical recommendations.
- Maintain all elements of our Azure Cloud network infrastructure, including, but not limited to: VMs, VDIs, App Gateways, Firewalls, DNS, VPNs, Proxies, and Databases.
- Design and manage secure, scalable Azure environments including VNETs, Azure Virtual Desktop, Resource Groups, and Management Groups
- Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices (e.g., IAM, encryption, VNET peering, KMS, Key Vaults).
- Develop and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible
- Drive observability through comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting using tools such as Azure Monitor, Prometheus, or New Relic
- Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure secure-by-default configurations (e.g., role-based access control, key vaults, WAF)
- Drive automation through scripting and DevOps practices (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
- Lead incident response and postmortem analysis for critical infrastructure incidents.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, ensuring secure, automated, and reliable deployments.
- Contribute to the definition and execution of disaster recovery (DR), backup, high availability (HA), and cost optimization strategies.
- Partner with stakeholders to deliver infrastructure projects that enable core business objectives.
- Facilitate technical knowledge sharing within the engineering teams.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of hands-on Microsoft Azure experience in cloud networking and infrastructure engineering.
- Proven experience as a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) or DevOps engineer in a production environment.
- Strong knowledge of Azure services, including VMs, VNETs, Load Balancers, Resource Groups, Azure Active Directory, Azure Virtual Desktop, and ARM templates.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, Helm, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Deep understanding of cloud-native infrastructure design, including multi-region architecture, auto-scaling, failover, and disaster recovery.
- Experience implementing monitoring, tracing, and logging in distributed systems.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
- Working knowledge of Linux/Windows system administration, networking, and database fundamentals (MySQL/PostgreSQL/NoSQL).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-400) are a strong plus.
- Experience working in a compliance-driven environment (SOC2, HIPAA, ISO).
- Experience with cost management and Azure cost optimization strategies

Compensation:
Harbor Compliance’s base salary range for this role is listed below. Compensation at the time of offer is based on factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of Harbor Compliance’s total compensation package. Other benefits may include health benefits, flexible paid time off, parental leave, fertility and adoption assistance, 401(k), and educational reimbursement. Note that the salary range and benefits apply only to U.S.-based candidates.
Harbor Compliance base salary range for this role in the U.S. is:
(Salary range $135,000 - $150,000 USD).
