Guilford College is a private liberal arts college located in Greensboro, North Carolina. Founded in 1837 by the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers), it holds the distinction of being the only Quaker-founded college in the southeastern United States. The institution is grounded in a practical liberal arts education that aims to produce critical thinkers and ethical leaders. Guilford's curriculum and community are deeply influenced by its seven Core Values: community, diversity, equality, excellence, integrity, justice, and stewardship. These values guide the college's mission to provide a transformative educational experience that empowers students to bring about positive change in the world.

The college's 340-acre campus is recognized as a National Historic District by the U.S. Department of the Interior, largely due to its significant role in the Underground Railroad during the 19th century. The campus woods served as a meeting point for escaping enslaved people and the Quakers who assisted them. Today, Guilford College offers a wide range of undergraduate majors and minors, as well as select graduate programs, to a diverse student body. The college is known for its small class sizes and strong faculty-student relationships, fostering an environment of personalized learning and academic rigor. Guilford is also cited in the guide 'Colleges That Change Lives,' highlighting its commitment to student success and holistic development.
