Position Summary:
Guilford College seeks two MBA students to serve as short-term Research Assistants on the National Science Foundation (NSF) Enabling Partnerships to Increase Innovation Capacity-Supporting Partnerships for Advancement, Research, and Knowledge (EPIIC-SPARK) project. The EPIIC-SPARK initiative supports the development of institutional infrastructure, cross-sector partnerships, and applied research activities aligned with Guilford College’s mission and values.
The selected students will assist with the development of a GAP analysis plan by reviewing existing project documentation, conducting preliminary institutional analyses, and drafting components that will inform subsequent project phases. These positions are grant-funded, hourly, and time-limited, with work directly contributing to project implementation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The MBA Student Research Assistants will:
Review existing project materials and relevant historical institutional documentation;
Conduct preliminary analyses of institutional processes and capacity needs related to partnership and research activities; and
Draft components of a GAP analysis plan that will inform subsequent project activities and implementation.
Qualifications:
Required:
Must be currently enrolled in the MBA program at Guilford College;
Strong research, analytical, and writing skills;
High attention to detail and ability to synthesize complex information; and
Ability to work independently while meeting project deadlines
Preferred:
Enrollment in or completion of the Business Strategy Course (MBA 600);
Working Conditions: This position offers a flexible work arrangement. Most work may be completed remotely; however, attendance at occasional in-person meetings may be required. In-person work, if needed, will take place in the Office of Advancement (Hendricks Hall) at Guilford College.
Compensation and Duration:
Hourly Rate: $25/hour
Time Commitment: This is a part-time, temporary position with a maximum time commitment of 10 hours per week (weekly hours may vary based on project needs but will not exceed 10 hours in any given week). Total hours worked will not exceed 40 hours per student over the work period as described below.

Anticipated Work Period: March 16, 2026 - May 15, 2026, with hours scheduled flexibly in coordination with the project supervisor.
