About the Role
As a Senior Hardware Product Manager, you will lead the development of our hardware product portfolio. This is a critical, foundational role - with broad responsibility for defining, building, and launching innovative hardware solutions that enable our mission.
You will work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, manufacturing partners, and marketing teams to translate customer needs into robust hardware products, drive product strategy and roadmaps, and ensure successful delivery from concept through production.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for Gridware’s hardware products, from concept and requirements through development, manufacturing, and launch
- Develop and maintain hardware product roadmaps aligned with company strategy and customer needs
- Gather and synthesize customer, market, and competitive insights to inform product strategy and prioritization
- Write clear product requirements and specifications, balancing technical feasibility, cost, and user experience
- Partner closely with hardware engineering, firmware, and software teams to define system architectures and product trade-offs
- Collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams to ensure manufacturability, cost targets, and quality standards are met
- Establish product development processes and best practices for hardware product management at Gridware
- Help define and track key product metrics and success criteria
- Serve as a key interface between technical teams and commercial stakeholders, ensuring alignment on timelines, risks, and deliverables
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field
- 7+ years of professional experience, ideally in hardware product management or closely related technical roles
- Experience managing hardware products through full lifecycle: concept, development, validation, manufacturing, and launch
- Strong technical acumen in hardware systems (e.g. electronics, mechanical assemblies, sensors, embedded systems, etc.)
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments where you’re building processes as you go
- Excellent communication skills, able to work across disciplines and influence without authority
- Strong problem-solving skills and a bias toward action
Bonus Skills
- Experience working with contract manufacturers and hardware supply chains is a plus.
- Experience with cloud-connected hardware and modern software systems
