About Goodwill Industries of Kentucky
We are Goodwill Industries of Kentucky, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping Kentuckians find pathways out of poverty through the transformative power of work. Founded in 1923 and headquartered in Louisville, we have spent over a century serving individuals with disabilities and other disadvantages across the Commonwealth. Our mission is to provide a hand up, not a handout, empowering people to achieve self-sufficiency and a better quality of life.
We operate in 103 of Kentucky's 120 counties, employing over 1,000 people and serving thousands more each year. Our 67 retail stores are more than just places to shop; they are training grounds and revenue engines that fuel our mission. We reinvest approximately 90 cents of every dollar earned in our stores back into our programs, which include job placement services, career coaching, and adult education through our Excel Center. We are passionate about removing barriers to employment, whether they stem from addiction, incarceration, or chronic poverty, and we work tirelessly to create second chances for those who need them most.
