Technical Program Manager

Gensyn is a network for machine intelligence that focuses on the integration of core resources needed for the development of AI alongside human intelligence.

Gensyn

Employee count: 1-10

United States only

Machine intelligence will soon take over humanity’s role in knowledge-keeping and creation. What started in the mid-1990s as the gradual off-loading of knowledge and decision making to search engines will be rapidly replaced by vast neural networks - with all knowledge compressed into their artificial neurons. Unlike organic life, machine intelligence, built within silicon, needs protocols to coordinate and grow. And, like nature, these protocols should be open, permissionless, and neutral. Starting with compute hardware, the Gensyn protocol networks together the core resources required for machine intelligence to flourish alongside human intelligence.

The Role

  • Work side-by-side with our Product team to build detailed project plans, align teams on priorities, and coordinate across highly technical teams to ensure we ship the right things—on time, and at top quality

Responsibilities

  • Drive sprint and milestone planning in partnership with Engineering, Research, and Product; ensuring teams are aligned, focused and unblocked
  • Translate high-level, research-grade initiatives into clear execution plans, delivery milestones, and resource allocations
  • Own day-to-day program delivery: build schedules, run planning cycles, manage timelines, track progress, and escalate risks
  • Act as a trusted source of truth for leadership — providing clear, accurate updates on delivery progress and tradeoffs
  • Facilitate retrospectives and program reviews to improve how we execute over time

Competencies

Must have

  • Experience managing complex technical programs with large amounts of uncertainty in high-growth environments
  • Proven ability to autonomously drive delivery across multiple teams and disciplines, especially in engineering and research-heavy contexts
  • Strong project management skills: scoping, scheduling, milestone tracking, stakeholder coordination, and risk mitigation
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills - clear, concise, and outcome-oriented
  • Deep collaboration mindset; comfortable operating as a partner to Product and Engineering leads
  • Experience with lightweight process design, adapting structure to suit engineering-led orgs
  • Familiarity with common product and project tooling (e.g., Linear, Notion, Gantt tools, custom dashboards)
  • Technical familiarity - used to working with GitHub and comfortable working with code

Preferred

  • Background in infrastructure, ML platforms, distributed systems, and/or crypto protocols
  • Exposure to ML engineering or smart contract development

Nice to have

  • Open source or protocol project management experience.
  • Passion for decentralized infrastructure, AI, or systems that reduce centralization risk.

Compensation / Benefits

  • Competitive salary + share of equity and token pool
  • Fully remote work- we currently hire between the West Coast (PT) and Central Europe (CET) time zones
  • Visa sponsorship -available for those who would like to relocate to the US after being hired
  • 3-4x all expenses paid company retreats around the world, per year
  • Whatever equipment you need
  • Paid sick leave and flexible vacation
  • Company-sponsored health, vision, and dental insurance- including spouse/dependents [🇺🇸 only]

Our Principles

Autonomy & Independence

  • Don’t ask for permission - we have a constraint culture, not a permission culture.
  • Claim ownership of any work stream and set its goals/deadlines, rather than waiting to be assigned work or relying on job specs.
  • Push & pull context on your work rather than waiting for information from others and assuming people know what you’re doing.
  • Communicate to be understood rather than pushing out information and expecting others to work to understand it.
  • Stay a small team - misalignment and politics scale super-linearly with team size. Small protocol teams rival much larger traditional teams.

Rejection of mediocrity & high performance

  • Give direct feedback to everyone immediately - rather than avoiding unpopularity, expecting things to improve naturally, or trading short-term pain for extreme long-term pain.
  • Embrace an extreme learning rate - rather than assuming limits to your ability / knowledge.
  • Don’t quit - push to the final outcome, despite any barriers.
  • Be anti-fragile - balance short-term risk for long-term outcomes.
  • Reject waste - guard the company’s time, rather than wasting it in meetings without clear purpose/focus, or bikeshedding.

About Gensyn

View company profile

Gensyn presents itself as the network for machine intelligence, focusing on uniting the core resources essential for the advancement of machine intelligence alongside human intelligence. The company posits that machine intelligence is poised to eventually replace humanity's role in knowledge preservation and creation. This shift, which began in the mid-1990s with the gradual delegation of knowledge and decision-making to search engines, is anticipated to escalate rapidly as expansive neural networks begin to condense all knowledge within their artificial neurons.

Gensyn emphasizes the importance of protocols that facilitate coordination and growth in machine intelligence—highlighting that, unlike organic life, which is bound by four-dimensional constraints and natural laws, machine intelligence, constructed from silicon, requires these protocols to function effectively. Moreover, Gensyn advocates for these protocols to be structured in an open, permissionless, and neutral manner, akin to natural processes. The organization also communicates its identity as a small, distributed, and meritocratic team that is dedicated to researching and crafting the future landscape of machine learning. Employees work remotely, with the organization underscoring its focus on innovation and collaboration within the machine intelligence sector.
