Job Description Summary
The IT Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and Business Development Manager is responsible for leading end-to-end IT workstreams across M&A and business development initiatives, including due diligence, financial planning, scoping, integration, and execution to ensure successful deal closure.This role establishes standardized IT M&A strategies and engagement models while driving execution in close collaboration with key stakeholders across GE Vernova Gas Power Business Development (BD), Digital Technology (DT) HQ teams (including M&A, Cyber, and CTO), and Power DT CIO organizations. The position requires strong technology, process, and domain expertise to lead multiple interdependent initiatives within large-scale programs, value streams, or regions.
Job Description
- Develop and execute DT integration, divestiture, and business development strategies aligned with the Gas Power Global Supply Chain BD roadmap.
- Conduct risk assessments for ongoing M&A and BD initiatives; develop and execute project plans aligned with deal timelines.
- Partner with DT and business stakeholders to ensure all IT processes, applications, and services are effectively scoped and delivered.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to define and implement business continuity plans to mitigate risks during system transitions.
- Define and execute post–Day 1 DT strategy in partnership with key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with business, functional, and technology leaders to define requirements using Lean principles and practices.
- Lead technology strategy discussions aligned with business needs and enterprise architecture standards.
- Establish and enforce agile program management methodologies and best practices across all projects.
- Build and lead cross-functional project teams, including internal and external technical and functional experts.
- Drive execution of multiple interdependent projects across global teams.
- Identify and resolve program-level risks, interdependencies, and roadblocks.
- Coordinate with external teams to ensure timely delivery of dependent activities.
- Manage program risks, scope changes, and non-standard events.
- Lead stakeholder communication and change management efforts.
- Ensure high-quality deliverables that meet stakeholder expectations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related STEM field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of IT experience, including demonstrated leadership across product lines or programs.
- Proven experience leading M&A, divestiture, or transformation initiatives within supply chain or manufacturing environments.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current Power Information Technology experience preferred.
- Strong relationship management skills across complex, matrixed organizations, including vendor partnerships.
- Experience defining and executing multi-year strategies.
- Experience establishing operational rhythms, standard work, and governance processes.
- Deep expertise in Lean and Agile methodologies, with hands-on experience applying Agile tools and practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity and make sound decisions.
- Excellent critical thinking and organizational skills to support leadership decision-making.
- Self-driven and proactive, with the ability to identify and remove organizational obstacles.
- Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop team members.
- Exceptional communication skills, including executive-level presentations.
- Ability to operate in a dynamic environment with flexible working hours and competing priorities.
- PMP or equivalent project management certifications preferred.
- Mobility flexibility for critical project deployment period
