The Engine Overhaul FLIGHT DECK Leader will be responsible for transforming results through the application of FLIGHT DECK, GE Aerospace’s lean operating model.

The successful candidate will partner with Senior leadership team of the Overhaul Services business, the Maintenance, Technology and Operations FLIGHT DECK office and the Overhaul Site Leadership teams to implement FLIGHT DECK, driving both a change in operating mindset and ensuring Lean principles are applied effectively in support of strategic and operational business plans. The primary responsibility of this position is to develop lean proficiency among the Overhaul Operations teams to both improve operational processes and standard work, but to also partner with supporting functions across the value stream as needed to drive impact. The is position will promote and enable GE’s continued transformation towards integrated product-line value stream management.

Job Description

Role & Responsibilities

The Engine Overhaul FLIGHT DECK Leader will serve as a facilitator, educator, advocate, consultant, and accountability partner with the Overhaul team to drive the understanding and application of FLIGHT DECK.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and execute impactful lean transformations within the Overhaul sites to achieve operating goals using KPI based performance management.
  • Coach and collaborate with all levels of the organization and supporting functions to help progress our lean culture and drive FLIGHT DECK activation.
  • Be a champion of kaizen and facilitate kaizen events to drive improvements.
  • Coach, mentor and develop organizational competencies to drive effective KPI’s, action plans, and problem solving to assure results are achieved and sustained. Coach all aspect of FLIGHT DECK to drive standard and impactful application.
  • Coach and mentor model cell implementations and work with the sites to scale through creation of robust transformation plans that assure breakthrough results.
  • Partner with the Maintenance, Technology and Operations FLIGHT DECK operations team and Maintenance, Technology and Operations leaders to quickly deploy new, best-practice capability and process across Maintenance, Technology and Operations network.
  • Key contributor to the development and implementation of FLIGHT DECK operating system.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or a related field from an accredited college/university
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in complex services environments and progressive leadership roles
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience running a manufacturing or services operation

  • Ability and willingness to travel 50% (domestic and international) based on business needs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven track record of leading large-scale lean/continuous improvement transformations in a multi-site or global operations context.
  • Deep expertise in lean operating systems, including daily management, standard work, value stream mapping, visual management, and structured problem solving.
  • Experience in engine overhaul, MRO, or highly regulated repair and maintenance operations strongly preferred.
  • Experience in heavy industrial re-manufacturing operations.
  • Demonstrated success driving improvements across Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost, with clear quantified results.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams across operations, engineering, quality, and supply chain.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements in aerospace (e.g., FAA/EASA, regulatory audits, quality systems).

The base pay range for this position is $190,000.00-$250,000.00. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on 5/6/2026.
