Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead banking technology initiatives for Banking client, with strong delivery experience in Core Banking, Lending, and Trade Finance domains. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in managing banking transformation, system implementation, integration, enhancement, or migration programs across business and technology teams.

The Project Manager will be responsible for end-to-end project governance, planning, stakeholder alignment, delivery execution, risk management, and successful implementation of banking solutions in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

Project Delivery & Governance

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of banking technology projects from initiation through implementation and closure
  • Define project scope, timeline, milestones, budget, dependencies, and resource plan
  • Develop and manage project plans, status reports, RAID logs, action trackers, and governance materials
  • Ensure alignment of project execution with business priorities, regulatory expectations, and bank delivery standards
  • Monitor delivery progress and drive timely closure of issues, risks, and dependencies

Banking Domain Delivery

  • Manage projects involving Core Banking systems, including customer accounts, deposits, transactions, payments, and product configuration
  • Lead delivery of Lending-related initiatives, including loan origination, credit processing, approval workflows, disbursement, servicing, repayment, and collections
  • Drive implementation or enhancement of Trade Finance solutions, including letters of credit, bank guarantees, documentary collections, import/export finance, and trade settlements
  • Coordinate integration across banking platforms, channels, middleware, and downstream/upstream systems

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary delivery contact for business, operations, technology, and vendor stakeholders
  • Work closely with business users across retail banking, corporate banking, operations, trade operations, credit, risk, compliance, and IT teams
  • Facilitate steering committee meetings, project reviews, stakeholder workshops, and decision forums
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure clear communication across business and technical teams

Team Coordination

  • Manage cross-functional teams including Business Analysts, solution architects, developers, QA, infrastructure, and support teams
  • Coordinate with vendors, external partners, and offshore/onshore delivery teams where applicable
  • Ensure proper task ownership, delivery accountability, and team collaboration throughout the project lifecycle

Risk, Change & Quality Management

  • Identify delivery risks, business impacts, and technical dependencies early, and drive mitigation actions
  • Manage change requests with clear impact assessment on scope, timeline, budget, and implementation approach
  • Ensure quality control across requirement validation, SIT, UAT, deployment readiness, production release, and hypercare
  • Ensure project documentation, audit readiness, and handover artifacts are maintained properly

Required Skills & Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in IT project delivery, with significant experience as a Project Manager
  • Strong experience delivering projects in the banking domain
  • Proven experience in at least two of the following areas: Core Banking, Lending, Trade Finance
  • Experience managing banking system implementation, integration, enhancement, migration, or transformation projects
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, testing cycles, release management, and production rollout
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with business and technology teams
  • Experience in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project delivery models
  • Good understanding of governance, budgeting, planning, and delivery reporting

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working with banks in Asia or regional banking transformation programs
  • Exposure to banking products, operations, and regulatory environments
  • Experience in system integration involving APIs, middleware, host systems, and enterprise platforms
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, MS Project, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum, or equivalent certification preferred
