About Foundation Communities
Foundation Communities is a local, homegrown nonprofit that has been creating housing where families succeed since 1990. We provide affordable, attractive homes and free on-site support services for thousands of families with kids, as well as veterans, seniors, and individuals with disabilities. Headquartered in Austin, Texas, we operate 31 apartment communities across Austin and North Texas, including 22 family communities and nine efficiency studio communities for single adults.
We offer an innovative, proven model that empowers our residents and neighbors to achieve educational success, financial wellness, and healthier lifestyles. Our support services include free after-school and summer learning programs for children, English as a Second Language classes, free income tax preparation, one-on-one financial coaching, health insurance enrollment assistance, and access to integrated primary and mental health care. About 80% of our budget comes from the affordable rents our residents pay, making our model financially sustainable. We're also committed to green building initiatives that save on operating costs, reduce residents' utility bills, and make our communities better places to live.
