WHO YOU ARE
Our ideal candidate is driven, detail-oriented, and has demonstrated the ability to manage projects through completion. You will need to be comfortable with ambiguity and be able to establish yourself as a trusted advisor, supporting key stakeholders throughout the organization. To be successful, you will need to have top-notch coding skills, clear and concise communication, and be able to drive and deliver multiple projects in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING DAY-TO-DAY
As the Front-end Developer, you will report directly to Expertise.com’s Lead Frontend Engineer and will be responsible for assisting in reengineering the main website. You will work cross-functionally to support content, sales, and marketing teams. You will be heavily involved in the following:
- Writing code with a focus on performance, speedy page load times, and improving conversion rates
- Building sites and implementing redesigns, designed in Figma/Sketch
- Coding features for our sites using HTML5/CSS/JS
- Designing and developing better user experiences and measuring the effect on those through A/B tests
- Future-proofing our sites with maintenance fixes, updating features, and rolling out responsive, mobile-friendly platforms
- Conversing, committing, and delivering via ClickUp/Slack/GitHub/Gitlab/email (in whatever order that is)
- Exploring new technologies/tools for finding solutions to new (and old) problems
APPLICATION ARCHITECTURE (THINGS YOU’LL HAVE TO KNOW)
- Senior JavaScript skills
- Experience with static site generators like Gatsby, or NextJS
- Semantic HTML
- Sass (or other CSS pre-processor)
- CSS Frameworks (Tailwind Bootstrap, etc.)
- Experience with build and package management tools like NPM, pnpm, etc
- Structured Data
- Advanced understanding of all the cool buzzwords… SEO, Web-standards, accessibility and usability concepts, information architecture, UX & UI design (heavy on the UX)
- Excellent communication skills, a great can-do attitude, and highly reliable
- A GitHub account or experience with other version control, handling issues, branching, pull requests, etc.
