Job Description
The Learning and Development Specialist will be in charge of:
- Course Designing and Execution
- Develop comprehensive training programs for Freight Data Validators (FDVs), focusing on industry-specific tools and best practices, including Transport Management Systems like Cargowise.
- Implement a variety of effective training methodologies tailored to the FDVs' needs, such as e-learning, role-playing, coaching, and on-the-job training.
- Ensure that product updates and enhancements are incorporated swiftly into the training program, enabling FDVs to adapt to changes effectively and promptly, enhancing their productivity and efficiency.
- Oversee the creation, updating, and maintenance of FDV training materials, ensuring they are consistently up-to-date with product updates and enhancements.
- Assess the effectiveness of all training activities and continuously refine and update the curriculum based on these evaluations.
- Session Organization and Execution
- Organize and lead new hire orientation and training, ensuring a smooth onboarding process.
- Create and manage a training calendar that schedules and tracks all training activities for FDVs.
- Collaboration and Communication
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, supervisors, and managers to keep abreast of changes impacting FDVs' roles, incorporating this information into training programs.
- Identify knowledge gaps among the FDV team through regular consultation with managers and team leads, and design training programs to address these areas.
- Maintain a keen understanding of training trends, developments, and best practices in the logistics and freight industry.
Qualifications
- Experience leading training programs or similar roles, or hands-on involvement in training activities. We welcome internal candidates who have relevant skills or a strong interest in learning and growing in this area.
- Extensive knowledge of Transport Management Systems, particularly Cargowise, and the ability to teach others to use these systems effectively.
- Proficiency in various training methodologies, including traditional classroom settings, e-learning, simulations, and hands-on training. Openness to developing skills in these areas is valued.
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Strong report writing and record-keeping ability, with an emphasis on tracking trainees' progress and the effectiveness of training programs.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex information to a diverse range of audiences.
- Knowledge of the logistics and freight industry, particularly BPO operations, is a strong advantage.
