Risk Intelligence Analyst

Stay safe on Himalayas

Never send money to companies. Jobs on Himalayas will never require payment from applicants.

Description

EverC, now part of G2 Risk Solutions, is a pioneer in advanced risk-intelligence technology, combining powerful AI/ML models with human-driven investigation to give global payments leaders unparalleled insight into online merchant risk. Our platform continuously analyzes millions of domains, revealing hidden networks, illicit activity, and emerging threats across the internet. We illuminate the blind spots that matter most—helping acquirers, PSPs, marketplaces, and financial institutions protect their portfolios and identify new opportunities for safe growth.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Risk Intelligence Analyst to identify, investigate, and assess online merchants and sellers who may be engaged in fraudulent activity, transaction laundering, regulatory violations, scam networks, or other high-risk activity impacting the payments ecosystem. In this role, you will use a combination of OSINT, proprietary tools, HUMINT-supported workflows, and hands-on deep-dive analysis to uncover hidden merchant activity, identify connections between websites, evaluate regulatory and reputational risk, and produce evidence-based reports used directly by leading global payments institutions and top-tier financial technology providers. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in investigative work, enjoys understanding how illicit online businesses operate, and wants to protect the payments ecosystem from fraud and abuse.

Responsibilities

Investigation & Analysis

  • Conduct deep-dive investigations of online merchants, marketplace sellers, and associated digital footprints (websites, domains, DNS/WHOIS, IPs, registrars, hosting, business records, social media, etc.).
  • Analyze suspicious products/services (e.g., Trending pharmaceuticals, illicit drugs, fraudulent entities, online scam networks, etc.)
  • Identify transaction laundering, hidden payment activity, policy circumvention, and merchant obfuscation techniques.
  • Produce clear, concise, evidence-based Risk Insight Reports, EVP-style merchant reviews, and scam assessments. Translate investigative findings into actionable risk recommendations for clients.
  • Assess merchants for compliance with card-brand rules, MCC suitability, regional regulations, and platform policies.

Data, Tools & Research

  • Use proprietary tools along with OSINT and HUMINT techniques.
  • Maintain strong familiarity with risk indicators across domains, products, and verticals.
  • Monitor emerging fraud trends, typologies, and regulatory/regional changes (U.S., EU, UK, LATAM, APAC).
  • Contribute to internal knowledge bases, playbooks, and fraud-trend bulletins. Participate in joint investigations with other analysts and help refine investigative workflows.

Requirements

  • Professional English skills (additional languages are an advantage).
  • 2+ years of experience in fraud analysis, OSINT, AML, merchant monitoring, risk operations, intelligence, or related analytical fields (or demonstrable academic/independent investigation experience).
  • Experience analyzing online merchants and e-commerce sellers, especially in high-risk or regulated verticals.
  • Strong proficiency with online attribution techniques, including WHOIS/DNS, IP analysis, hosting details, domain metadata, reverse image search, website fingerprinting, etc.
  • Data analysis skills (basic SQL, Excel power user, pivot tables). Familiarity with automation tools and techniques are not required, but preferred for a candidate seeking this position.
  • Ability to identify red flags, obfuscation patterns, and connections across large sets of domains or merchant entities.
  • Excellent written communication skills; able to create clear, defensible, client-ready reports. Strong documentation habits and attention to detail are a must.

Other soft skills include:

  • Curiosity-driven and resourceful—enjoys “finding the hidden thing."
  • High degree of autonomy; able to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
  • Comfortable working in fast-moving, ambiguous investigative environments.
  • Team-oriented with strong collaboration skills.
